PadelRef 1.6.0: Flic 2 on iPhone, Portuguese and recent matches

v1.6.0

PadelRef 1.6.0 is out now on Google Play and the App Store. Flic 2 buttons now work on iPhone, the app speaks Portuguese (Brazil), Home keeps your last matches one tap away, and a good part of the work went into making Bluetooth remotes less fiddly.

What’s new

  • Flic 2 on iPhone. Pair a Flic 2 button on your iPhone and score with a click, the way Android users already could.
  • Portuguese. PadelRef is now available in Portuguese (Brazil) on the phone and the Apple Watch, voice announcements included. It switches on by itself if your phone is set to Portuguese.
  • Recent matches on Home. Under Start, a small card lists your last three finished matches with teams, games per set and the winner. Tap one to open it, or “See all” for the full History. It stays hidden until you have played your first match.
  • Match times in History. Each match in the list now shows when it started and finished, so two matches on the same day are easy to tell apart.
  • Remotes that pair properly on Android. Many cheap Bluetooth shutter remotes look connected but never score. On Android, PadelRef now sends them through Android’s own pairing and picks them up from there.
  • Volume-button remotes, spotted early on iPhone. When a remote can only press the volume keys, PadelRef now says so before you tap Connect and points you to Volume-button mode, instead of failing and leaving you to guess.
  • Flic 2, steadier on both phones. A saved Flic reconnects when you open the app, tells you when Bluetooth is off (and clears the message when you switch it back on), and shows a hint when it is still waiting for the button, for example because another phone is holding it.

Fixes

  • On Android, the navigation bar now stays hidden when you open the finish or discard dialog during a match.
  • A fresh install on Android no longer risks losing what you set up in the first session.
  • In Stats, a one-set margin now reads “Decided by 1 set”, not “1 sets”.
  • Dragging a player in the lineup no longer flashes the previous player’s name.
  • Right after calibrating a remote, free play stops suggesting you calibrate it again.
  • The in-app review prompt counts days correctly around the clock change.

One thing to know: 1.6.0 needs iOS 16.4 or later. iPhones that cannot update past iOS 15 stay on 1.5.4.
