PadelRef 1.5.4 and 1.5.5: singles, who serves, Apple Watch
PadelRef 1.5.4 is out on the App Store, and 1.5.5 on Google Play: the same release, with a few extra fixes for Android. For Android users it’s also the first update since 1.4.4, so it brings everything from 1.5.0 too.
Singles and 2 v 1
Leave a player name empty and that side is one player, who serves every one of their side’s service games. One name against two gives you a 2 v 1.
A board that shows who serves, and what’s at stake
The serving player’s name is now highlighted, on the phone and on the watch. A rules chip shows Golden Point, Advantage or Star Point, and the deciding point is called out loud after deuce (you can switch that off in Settings → Voice). On that point, the receivers choose the side, as the FIP rules say.
Apple Watch
- Matches saved to Health as workouts, with heart rate, calories and the final score.
- Live heart rate on the board, if you turn it on in Settings.
- Scoring without the phone app: the watch keeps going and syncs afterwards.
- The point for serve, from the wrist, including undo and rematch.
Also in this release
- The watch speaks the language you picked in the app.
- A match finished on a level score is recorded as a draw.
- The first point of a match is announced reliably again.
- On iPhone, swiping right on a live match no longer freezes the board.
On Android, 1.5.5 goes a step further
The serve dot now shows for every team, including unnamed teams and long names; the deciding-point call always says who chooses the side; and a tap just after the last point can no longer close the app before the match is saved. These fixes reach iPhone with the next update.
